This is a rare color morph. This is the newest color morph available.  The body is slight shiny yellow with patches of black marbling. Gars are relatively passive, seemingly sluggish solitary fish, but voracious ambush predators. They are opportunistic night predators and are primarily piscivores, but they will also ambush and eat water fowl and small mammals that may be floating on the surface.
