Description
The African Leopard Leaf Fish, also called Leopard Bush Fish, or Ctenopoma acutirostre, is a freshwater fish native to Central and West Africa in the Congo basin. This spotted fish with coloration featuring browns, greens, and yellows, has an elongated body which enhances its visual appeal. These fish are known as ambush predators, using their coloration to provide excellent camouflage when sneaking up on prey. This makes the African Leopard Leaf Fish a great addition to any aquarium.
As a semi-aggressive species that can be territorial, you may find more luck relying on easygoing species, such as tetras, barbs, bottom dwellers, and some African cichlids. Please ensure that they can coexist, but only in the optimal conditions. Provide tons of hiding spots, space, and food so that you can enjoy a peaceful aquarium.
