Description
The tiger muskellunge, commonly called tiger muskie, is a carnivorous fish. It is a hybrid offspring of the true muskellunge and the northern pike.
The Musky or Muskellunge closely resembles other esocids in appearance and behavior, such as the northern pike and American pickerel. The Muskellunge usually max out at 28-48 in length, but have been recorded to reach 6 feet.
There are four types of muskellunge fish-barred muskies, spotted muskie, tiger muskellunge, and clear muskies.
Muskellunge are one of the most sought-after freshwater game fish in North America. This species is a large predatory freshwater fish that are fast and aggressive.
