Description
The African Trout Minnow, also called the Senegalian Tetra or Senegalian Killifish, is an incredible freshwater fish native to West Africa. As a type of characid, this minnow has a long, slender body showcasing a distinctive blue-green coloration. This fairly small species only grows to about 5 inches in length, but its fascinating looks far outshines its small stature. African Trou Minnows are hard to come by, as they are seasonal creatures, but they make an amazing addition to any tank!
The minnow is a social butterfly, and is peaceful with many different types of fish, often preferring to exhibit natural schooling behaviors when they feel comfortable to do so. In optimal conditions, the African Trout Minnow can be kept with other social and peaceful fish species, including other small tetras, corydoras, and guppies.
